Grosvenor goes even greener with rare award

Grosvenor Windows has gained another national environmental award to add to its green credentials. The company has been granted the sought-after ISO 14001 for environmental practices and policies – an accolade achieved by fewer than one in 400 UK businesses.

“Green issues are becoming more and more important to homeowners and commercial customers alike,” said Operations Manager Darren Howarth.

“This certificate means Grosvenor has shown its commitment to environmental practices for manufacture, transportation and recycling.”

Grosvenor shows its true colours

Network VEKA fabricator Grosvenor has proven its commitment to customer satisfaction once again, by opening a new spray shop. This facility means installers can offer customers another chance to put a little of their personality into new windows, doors and conservatories. Using advanced technology, Grosvenor can take high quality VEKA frames and bond a tough, permanent colour layer to conventional foiled or white bases.

These frames can be customised using any of the RAL shades, or by matching a colour sample of the customer's choice. The coloured layer is strong and scratch-resistant. There are more options than just a simple colour too, as Grosvenor can offer different shades inside and out, so that inner frame colours can be chosen to complement the homeowner's interior design ideals. For many years aluminium has been the field-leader in offering colour options, often at a substantial price. PVC-U colour bonding now represents a cost-effective alternative.

Grosvenor has already carried out several jobs which might previously have gone to aluminium, including a local school contract of frames and curtain walling in an understated grey tone to complement the brightly coloured render. Sales and Marketing Manager Barry Hurst explains that the new spray shop has quickly proven its worth in popularity. “The colour bonding service has really taken off. It seems to be particularly popular in the domestic and small commercial sectors, where homeowners can personalise their home improvements and small business owners can match their windows and doors to their corporate branding.”

Network Veterans merge for strength

Two long-established North West Network VEKA fabricators, Paramount Window Systems and Grosvenor Windows have merged to create a potential £10million force in the region’s manufacturing, commercial and domestic sectors. The company, to be called the Etiam Group, will be based in Grosvenor’s Bolton Premises, retaining both MDs, Eddie McGrath and Peter Mills in a joint role, with a staff of around 100.

Both the Paramount and Grosvenor names and styling will continue as separate trading entities to maximise on both companies’ strong local reputation. Eddie and Peter have been close friends for many years and their companies, physically just 12 miles apart, have worked in harmony on a number of projects. Recently, Grosvenor has been providing overspill manufacturing for Paramount, where increasing sales have even overtaken the capacity of the new factory it opened only seven years ago.
